About Me

Hello friends! You ever have an idea that you love, and it’s exciting, but also scary? I tend to overthink those ideas, and then I procrastinate, and then I second guess myself…

And then I walked down to the courtyard outside our apartment with my morning coffee and I see this quote etched in the stone.

So here I am, jumping into the blogging world. Only twenty years after the rest of the free world – I know! Currently my husband and I are travelers. His job moves around every 6-10 months and we got tired of doing long distance. Things fell into place so I could start traveling with him, and thus a greater need for connection and communication was born. The Sunnydaze Diaries is mainly like an online journal – a place to share what God is teaching me, our adventures as nomads, travel tips and itineraries, a few recipes and interior design ideas, and anything else that pops up along the way.

For those of you I haven’t met, this is me:

  • Family: Married to an amazing guy for a long time, two kids – both grown and happily settled.
  • Faith: I believe in loving God and loving people. I’ve served in our local church as a small group host and leader, children’s ministry leader, special events planner, women’s ministry leader, elder, and speaker.
  • Age: Gen X – you do the math! 😉
  • Places Lived: California, Washington, Guam, Georgia, Tennessee, New York, Kansas, and more to come!
  • Things I’ve been: (some paid, some not!): Missionary kid, Navy wife, Homeschool mom, Barista, Retail Worker Bee, Cake Artist
  • Hobbies: Planning Trips, Axe throwing, Interior Design, Attempting to catch up on all the shows and movies I haven’t seen
  • Favorite Things: Coffee, Sunrises over the Ocean, Mexican food, Hiking, Wine, Date Nights, Exploring new places
  • What I’m Nerdy About: Harry Potter, Narnia, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, baking
  • Fears: Sharks (long story), most creepy crawlies, conflict (Enneagram 9!)
  • Three Unusual Facts: 1. I can’t whistle 2. I have a blackbelt in Taekwondo 3. I am a two-time cancer survivor

I hope somewhere in these posts you find something that inspires you, or challenges you, or at least makes you smile. Thanks for hanging out with me on this journey. Let’s live with boldness and intentionality, and let our light shine bright!
